Since the material follows industry trends, you can get wood, marble, other stone looks, fun, colorful tile graphics, and textures such as wire-brushed, hand scraped, weathered, or antiqued. The material can be cut into long planks, called vinyl plank flooring or square, groutable tile-sized pieces, LVT flooring.
It is easy to care for, with only a daily sweeping and a weekly mopping with a manufacturer-approved cleaner. Avoid wax shine promoting cleaners as they can damage the finish and dull the floor. If you think you need more shine, seek the advice of an expert.
Installation can be a floating floor that is click, mat, and hover. Subfloors need to be clean, dry, and level. While the floating floor technique is fast and straightforward, installers will sometimes need to sand the subfloor since imperfections can show on the surface.
